If someone has you in their Kinship contacts

Who we are
Kinship is a personal relationship manager run by S4 Solutions, LLC. For anything about privacy, use our contact form.
Why your details may be in Kinship
Kinship is a private address book. Someone who uses it may have added your name, email address, phone number, LinkedIn URL, employer, and their own notes about knowing you.
We did not get any of this from you. That user entered it from their own knowledge, from their own LinkedIn data export, or from a sync with their own Google or Outlook contacts. We do not buy, scrape, or enrich contact lists from data brokers.
What may be held about you
- Your name
- Email addresses
- Phone numbers
- LinkedIn profile URL
- Employer and job title
- When you and that user connected
- Notes that user wrote
- Life events, such as a job change, that user recorded
We do not hold special category data about non-users — nothing about health, religion, or political views.
Why we are allowed to process it
We rely on the legitimate interest of the user who added you (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) in keeping their own private record of the people they know. We have written a Legitimate Interest Assessment for this. Ask for a copy through our contact form and we will send it to you.
How we protect it
- Encrypted at rest (AES-256) and in transit (TLS).
- Row-level security in the database, so each user can only ever reach their own contacts.
- We do not sell it or share it with advertisers, and we do not train AI models on it.
- AI features are paid-plan only and off unless the account holder switches them on. Free-tier data is never sent to any AI model. When AI features are on, we send the relevant note or contact to our AI vendors; their own training and retention terms differ, and we set them out in full in our Privacy Policy §3.2.
How long it is kept
For as long as that user keeps their Kinship account. If they delete their account, everything tied to it is permanently deleted within 30 days. You can also ask us to delete your data directly, using the form below.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict how it is processed, and object to our processing it on legitimate interest grounds. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Use our data request form. We reply within 30 days.
If your details might only appear inside someone's free-text notes — where we cannot match you by email, phone, or LinkedIn URL — ask for a manual search through our contact form.
